And the Answer is...

...homemade butter (shaken by the hunnies of course). Yes, that's how we decided to celebrate the upcoming holiday; by making Pioneer Whole Wheat bread in our Kitchen Aid and slathering it with fresh butter. Yum! We threw a couple pioneer songs into mix and felt quite festively proud of ourselves. Happy 24th of July!

hummm what a fun prject to do with your kids. My boys would love to have any excuse to shake a bottle! I'll be doing this one at our next FHE night! I finally launched my new blog. Come check it out sometime.

Would you mind posting your butter recipe...I've been buying raw milk (it's not pasturized or homogenized) for several months now. Usually I get "skim" so the fat is already skimmed off the top but this time they accidentally gave me whole so I have a lot of cream and know I can make butter with it but not sure how. I'd love it if you'd share how you did it! :) PRetty please?!

Halli - all you do it shake it! And add a little salt (I prefer Kosher). In your case, since you're not trying to make it a project, just whip it in your kitchen aid until its firm enough for you. Good luck.
