I am an organizer. When I was growing up, my mom used to send me to my room to clean it and it would take me ALL day long because the entire room - down to every drawer, every corner, under the bed, and every shelf in the closet was included in the clean. Truth be known, organizing a drawer gives me great thrill. It is a personal trait that is a little quirky, but I've learned to embrace - although it makes me a bit neurotic at times. That being said, some projects are still completely overwhelming and thus procrastinated. Which leads me to my "Project of the Month". Today I completed a project so big it was dubbed a "Project of the Month" in my New Years Resolutions: Organizing the piles and piles of my kids clothes that are too small into bins to be stored in the garage. Funny enough, with Bryce's help, the project took less than an hour. Hooray! Wish I had taken some before and after pictures to share.-amr
Thank goodness for Leap Year! If I didn't have this extra day today, I wouldn't have been able to complete my project of the month. In February, I wanted to put something up on ebay for sale and I can't believe the end of the month has already arrived! (Procrastination is not a trait I'm proud of. It doesn't happen ALL the time, but it does happen :( I am determined to get my item up by the end of the day.-amr
Today is my one month blogging anniversary - does that make it a blogiversary? Either way, it has been such an exciting creative outlet, not to mention a true challenge in attempt to capture my life in words and images. I have reconnected with old friends, found some new ones, and kept a journal of it all along the way. If you are tinkering around with the idea of starting a blog - please do so! I know for a fact ALL my friends and family would make terrific bloggers. It is so much fun and genuinely rewarding. Why else you would bake a delicious tart - then proceed to make every salivating member of your family wait so you can find the right light to take a picture of it? Ha! It sounds even more bizarre when I write it, but its true! Thanks to everyone who has commented and e-mailed me. I love to read everything you have to say - and if you are a lurker (no need to be ashamed :-) - I was once one too!) please post a comment and let me know you've visited. A happy day to all...-amr
Note to self: February is nearly here and I'm beginning to think of my next "Project of the Month." (January's has been quite successful I'd say - now I just need to keep up with it). I hope I'm not revealing too much information about myself and seeming utterly pathetic...but I have never sold anything on Ebay. (Stop the giggling and finger pointing)! It turns out, I'm quite good at purchasing from Ebay. I'm actually quite good at purchasing from anywhere! I just got these Uggs for Max last month - they'd only been worn once and were nearly 70% off of retail; therein lies the beauty of Ebay. So, with Bryce's help, I'm going to learn the ins and outs of Ebay and sell something (hopefully) in the month of February. Stay tuned to find out if I can do it...-amr
This month, my neighbor Jane has been busy (and dutifully) filling her children's scrapbooks with photos. This has me thinking...exactly how far behind am I? I need to muster up the courage to plow through my garage to even find the photos. Brrr.... it's not happening in January! But when I do find the courage (and the time), I'm thinking I might like to try something like this out. Both Shutterfly and Kodak Gallery have Martha Stewart albums with really simple yet rich style elements that are printed digitally. Considering the time and money that are put into scrapbooks and/or photo albums, I don't think the expense is unreasonable. And wouldn't an album finished from front to back be such a treat? It would in my house.-amr
One of my resolutions for the new year is to include one "extra" project each month into my underscheduled, relaxed and quiet life. (I'm hoping that the sarcasm translates through my head to my fingers and onto the page for that one.) One project a month may seem completely attainable to many, but I find myself getting lost in laundry, dinnertime, school projects, and multiple daily feedings with the little J. Days turn into weeks, weeks into months and well you know how it goes from there; hence, I have found a real need for some sort of motivation to create or at the very least accomplish more than just the usual. My January project? This blog. I'm off to a good start I think.
